(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Fine Arts Society of the College of Applied Sciences (CAS) in Nizwa recently organised a workshop on 3D sculpting.
A press release said that the two-day workshop was presented by Khalfan al Rawahi, a fine arts teacher, and was attended by students and instructors.
At the workshop, Rawahi explained ways to use gypsum and showed samples of good 3D sculptures. Practical sessions were conducted in which students had to produce their own works.
The sessions were conducted in three stages: materialising, amendment and finalising. Rawahi said,
''It was a great opportunity for students to improve their skills and learn new techniques in order to enhance Omani Arts''.
The Fine Arts Society has won the Arts Shield of CAS several times, the release added.
CAS Nizwa also organised a lecture on its International Business Administration (IBA) programme recently.
A press release said that the lecture was held at Jibreen Hall and delivered by Dr Mohamed Abdul Madhar, head of IBA department. It was attended by students and faculty members. It introduced the IBA programme plan.
Dr Madhar explained what are the majors and sub-majors under the programme, projects students have to submit each semester and how to calculate grades.
At the end of the lecture, he answered students' queries. CAS Nizwa offers three main programmes: communication studies, design and IBA, the release added.
