Mitsubishi Co. gains in first quarter of fiscal 2013

Japanese Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced its achieved profits during the first half of the fiscal year ending in March 31, 2014, where the company recorded sales of 929 billion yen, up by 8% at the annual level.

While operating profit rose 65 percent to 50.8 billion yen, due to the decline of metals and other components costs as well as the lower Japanese yen which helped in increasing the competitive advantage of Japanese exports .

Meanwhile, net income rose by 55 % to 46.7 billion yen, sales abroad increased by 4 % to 499K units, while sales in Japan increased by 5 % to 66 thousand units in line with the company`s sales to the United States 3% to 45K units, while European sales increased by 1 % to 91K units.

On the other hand the company downgraded its forecasts for the total year sales by 58K units to 1.111 million units, but profits remained high.
