(MENAFN) Energy major BP plans to develop its tight-gas field in Block 61 and award a number of major contracts after receiving the all-important agreement on commerciality from the Omani government by 2014, according to Oman Observer.
The development will begin with a giant gas plant of one billion cubic feet (bcf) capacity.
Daniel Blanchard, Vice-President Operations and Country Manager - BP Exploration (Epsilon) Limited, said: "We hope to be able to award the large contracts very shortly after the declared commerciality."
