Global agencies assign top ratings for Omantel

(MENAFN) Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), the leading telecommunications service provider in the Sultanate, has been assigned BBB+/A-2 ratings by Standard and Poor's and an A3 by Moody's, Times of Oman reported. These ratings reflects Omantel's strong financial ratios and its strong competitive positions in Oman's fixed line and mobile telephony markets, a solid operating performance and high profitability. (S&P) also figured out that Omantel is the leader in the domestic two-player market which, in their view, supports Omantel's scale and profitability at above-average levels. According to Moody's Vice President - Senior Analyst and lead analyst for Omantel, "Omantel was assigned an A3 rating primarily because of its strong financial profile, reflected by solid free cash flow generation, and our expectation that the company will maintain a conservative leverage profile, with debt/EBITDA not Exceeding 1.5 x."
