US durable goods orders up in September


(MENAFN) The US Commerce Department said that orders on durable goods manufactured in the country increased last month, Xinhua reported. Durable goods orders in September rose USD8.2 billion to USD233.4 billion, recoding a 3.7 percent increase pushed by a 12.3 percent surge in transportation equipment orders from August. The manufacturing sector in the country has been a big supporter of the economy since the the end of the recession which caused durable goods orders to plunge 20.2 percent in 2009.
