Qatar wealth per adult highest in region


(MENAFN) Qatar recorded the highest average wealth per adult with USD153, 294 in mid 2013 in the Middle East and North African (Mena) region, growing 2 percent from the same period last year, Times of Oman reported. While UAE followed closely with USD126, 791 rising 4 percent. Kuwait was placed third in the region with an average wealth per adult of USD119, 101 but declined 0.3 percent from last year. Average wealth per adult in Saudi Arabia, the largest economy in the region, rose 0.7 percent from mid 2012 to reach USD37, 346 while Egypt's wealth per adult fell 12 percent to USD7, 285. However, in terms of total wealth, Saudi Arabia ranked first with an estimated USD0.6 trillion, closely followed by the UAE with an estimated USD0.5 trillion.
