New opportunities for Chinese firms in UK nuclear project

(MENAFN) A new atomic power station in Britain has been agreed on with two Chinese firms taking part in the project, Times of Oman reported. The two Chinese companies taking part in the Hinkley Point C project are state-owned China General Nuclear Power Corp (CGN) and China National Nuclear Corp (CNNC) and they will have a 30 to 40 percent stake between them. The group said in a statement that this project will give them "the opportunity to gain experience in the UK and will support their long-term objective of becoming established nuclear developers in the UK."
