NATS completes training programme for Omani engineers from PACA

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) NATS, a global leader in air traffic services and solutions, recently completed a quality training programme for senior Omani engineers from the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).

Around 18 engineers, from Muscat and Salalah, attended training that took place in the NATS Training Centre at the company's headquarters in Hampshire UK, over a two to three week period. Gary Lloyd, NATS consultant, said, ''PACA is currently facing a series of exciting challenges as they look to transition new airports into service across Oman, as well as optimising their management of the busiest en-route airspace in the Gulf region.

NATS is proud to be working together with PACA in support of such an important programme.'' The Omani engineers took courses that included basic Air Traffic Safety for Electronics Personnel (ATSEP). Four of the most experienced engineers also took an ‘on the job training' course development module, that enables them to design and deliver bespoke courses to fellow engineers in Oman. All the engineers passed a rigorous exam that was followed by a Safety & Ergonomics Qualification.

The final part of the course was qualification training on their specialist ATSEP domains; Communications, Navigation, Data Processing, Surveillance and System Monitoring & Control. ATSEP training is defined by the Eurocontrol Common Core Content and will be a regulatory requirement placed on ANSPs covering training and competency.

Matthew Holden, NATS training delivery manager, said, ''It was fantastic for our team of instructors to share knowledge and experience with the Omani engineers. The delegates were a pleasure to spend time with.'' NATS had recently provided training for Libyan auditors
