Turkey and Palestine Establish Joint Council for Economic Cooperation


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Palestine and Turkey signed an agreement to establish a joint council for economic cooperation to promote economic cooperation and bilateral trade between the two countries. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Economy of Turkey, Zafer Caglayan, and Palestinian Authority Minister of Economy Jawad al-Naji, on the sidelines of an international conference on "The Role of Trade for the Development of the Palestinian Economy," held in Istanbul , with the support of the European Union, in the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership. Under the agreement, the joint council will act to expand the horizons of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries as well as to provide suitable ways to achieve this goal and to discuss policies and strategies needed to increase trade in goods and services between the two countries in the addition to boosting cooperation in regional and international forums on economic affairs, according to the Palestinian news agency (WAFA) .
