EDF in deal to develop UK nuclear plant


(MENAFN) France-based EDF announced that it grabbed a USD26 billion deal to construct a new nuclear plant, Times of Oman reported. The French energy giant agreed to construct two nuclear reactors at Hinkley Point C, with French nuclear group Areva and Chinese nuclear companies CGNPC and CNNC. In a statement, EDF said: "EDF Group and the UK Government have reached in principle an agreement on the key commercial terms for an investment contract of the planned Hinkley Point C nuclear power station."
