(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The flagship product fosters a different aspect of big-picture entertainment for home video and gaming, and takes wireless capabilities, cost-effectiveness and streamlined amusement to a new level. "We've been doing good in projector categories in the region," Manish Bakshi, managing director of BenQ Middle East, told Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the Press event in Dubai.
"While it has been a lean year, on the positive side we've grown a lot [in the UAE]," he added, "especially in the second half of 2013."
Bakshi said that Taipei-headquartered BenQ has been doing well especially in top-of-the-line video and short-throw projectors, and it has also "grown hugely" in XGA models.
He pointed out that aside from profitability and revenue-generation, BenQ's projector business adds to overall consumer awareness regarding these products compared to the competition. With top-line products in the $1,000 price range, Bakshi said that BenQ's offering to the market is "truly unique" it is great to sell them and excel with them".
At Gitex Technology Week 2013, which begins tomorrow, Bakshi said that BenQ will be participating at Infocom, which runs alongside the event until October 24.
He said that BenQ will be having an "exceptional booth" to give customers the chance to experience its products, especially interactive flat panels and digital signages, the latter of which Bakshi says will be a focus area of BenQ for the rest of the year.
Powered with a full-HD audio and visual experience, the new BenQ W1500 enables 2D and 3D streaming from a diverse range of multimedia sources. The projector, which has a dual-HDMI interface, allows easy connection from notebook computers to Blu-ray DVD players, gaming consoles and smart devices.
