Syria approves USD18.8 b budget for 2014


(MENAFN) The Syrian government has agreed on a USD8.18 billion budget for 2014, slightly above the budget of this year, The Peninsula Qatar reported. Next year's budget, which is USD50.15 million above this year's budget, came with no spending cuts despite of the turmoil in the country. The civil war that erupted in Syria two years ago significantly hit the country's economy and caused billions of dollars of losses by depriving it of the tourism sector and oil exports.
