Egypt issues tender for an FSRU

(MENAFN) Egypt's Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) issued a tender for the construction of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), The Peninsula Qatar reported. An FSRU is a floating terminal which is used to import natural gas. Egypt can only export gas, but not import it without such a terminal. Egypt has been struggling to find capital for importing energy since Mubarak stepped down from power in 2011, which led to fuel shortages and causing power cuts.
