UAE, Slovenia Sign Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Slovenia have signed an agreement on avoidance of double taxation, bringing to 74 the total agreements UAE has inked with the country's key trade partners. The agreement was signed on the margin of the annual meeting of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in Washington by UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs Obaid Humaid Al Tayer and Slovenian Finance Minister Uros Cufer, Emirates WAM news agency reported The agreement aims to strengthen mutual economic and trade relations and to develop investments between the two countries Al Tayer described the agreement as "a very important step in the way to strengthen the two countries' economic and financial ties." The agreement provides for exchange of information, as well as implementation of standard on transparency endorsed by G20 and mechanism for settling disputes It also sets provisions for dividing tax profits and for addressing tax evasion.
