Kuwait- 'No Slaughtering Sheep Outside'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Subaih has warned against slaughtering Eid Al-Adha sacrifices outside the designated slaughterhouses, urging citizens and expatriates to cooperate with the concerned bodies in implementing the Municipality regulations in this regard. In a press statement, Al-Subaih affirmed that the state prohibits slaughtering of any animal outside the designated slaughterhouses in the six governorates, adding, "Those who slaughter outside slaughterhouses expose themselves to health risks despite the health and safety considerations they implement". He indicated that the medical supervision and municipality inspection is essential and is not available anywhere other than in the designated slaughterhouses around the country. Al-Subaih stressed that periodic inspections are conducted in all slaughterhouses in the country, and all these procedures are adopted to protect the health of the consumers and achieve public interest. Meanwhile, the directors of all slaughterhouses affirmed the preparedness of their facilities in meeting the requirements of the sacrifices throughout Eid holidays. The slaughterhouses will be open immediately after Eid Al- Adha prayers until 6 pm for citizens and expatriates and from 6 pm for companies and charitable organizations.
