(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) FBF Group of Companies and Arab Malaysia Development Company (AMDC) on Wednesday signed an agreement for the development of a US$100mn (RO38.4mn) indoor theme park.
The Majarat Oman Family Theme Park will be located within Al Sawadi Beach Resort compound. Spread over 25,000sq m, it is scheduled to open in 2016.
Addressing a press conference, Syed Asad Ali, managing partner, AMDC, said, ''This is going to be the sultanate's number one tourist destination. It will be a state-of-the-art theme park. We are expecting at least half a million visitors in a year.''
He said the park will even have business centres and spas. ''It will have Oman's first-ever 30-seat balloon ride, a family entertainment centre, fun rides and live shows. It will offer visitors an unforgettable visit full of fun, thrill, speed and adventure.''
It will have four exciting zones: Alien Colony, Fuzzie's World, Space Station and Neptune Water Park. ''The park will provide atleast 300 permanent jobs to Omanis as well as part time jobs.''
The park is expected to have a soft opening early 2016
