Malaysia's Petronas to construct USD35 b plant in Canada


(MENAFN) Malaysia's Petronas plans to start the plant project of liquid natural gas (LNG) in Canada which will cost USD35 billion after Ottawa has cancelled its decision of blocking the Malaysian national oil company's purchase of Canadian gas producer Progress Energy Resources, according to Khaleej Times. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said: "We believe this project will be mutually beneficial because it will open up Canadian energy to new markets, principally East Asia." Providing the project with all the facilities needed, including a pipeline investment, will cost Petronas USD34.9 billion, Najib said.
