Oman to get its first theme park by 2016


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman will get its first indoor theme park by the first quarter of 2016. The agreement for the project will be signed this week by the FBF group of companies and Arab Malaysia Development Company.

The park, which will be located within the Al Sawadi Beach Resort compound, will be spread over 25,000sq m. The cost of the project is estimated to be US$100mn.

Mohammed al Jabry, the managing partner of Amusement Cities, an SPE (special purpose entity) formed by the Arab Malaysia Development Company, said, ''The park will be divided into different zones based on different themes. It will have a water park and indoor themed facilities.''

''The park will not only cater to children but will provide entertainment to all age groups.

''It will have adventure rides, food courts and many more attractions. It will be designed according to world class standards.''

In addition, it will have entertainment for people with special needs. It will also provide ample job opportunities for individuals in Oman and boost domestic and international tourism, he added.
