North Africa may be next big opportunity for shale: Repsol


(MENAFN) The director of Repsol Geological Studies said that if drilling costs in North Africa can be cut, the region has the potential to be the next big opportunity for oil and production from shale, Times of Oman reported. The Algerian Energy Ministry expects that the country"s production of oil will double in the next 7 to 10 years. Also, the Libyan government is planning to invite specialized firms to look for prospects in the country. Repsol operates two blocks in Libya and is exploring for oil in six different other locations.
