Vietnam expected to earn USD4.5 b from rubber

(MENAFN) Rubber exports from Vietnam is expected to earn the country nearly USD4.5 billion this year, up from USD4.62 billion last year, Xinhua reported. Vietnam has become the fifth largest rubber producer, producing 836,600 tons of rubber from 910,500 hectare of land allotted for rubber production. Rubber comes as the countrys eighth top export commodity following garment and textiles, telephones, crude oil, electronics products, footwear, seafood and machinery. China is where 42.7 percent of the rubber goes making it the largest Vietnamese rubber importer. Malaysia comes second with 21.2 percent of the total rubber produced being exported there.
