Life for assaulting boy at knifepoint

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A farm worker has been sentenced to life in prison as he was found guilty of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a boy aged 12, at knifepoint in his room in Al Rashidiya. The Court of First Instance also ordered that the Bangladeshi worker, 37, be deported after completing his prison time. According to prosecution records, the defendant threatened the boy, a Pakistani, at knifepoint and make him take off his clothes. The boy said he was approached by the accused as he walked out of a mosque after the afternoon prayers on February 25. The man asked the boy to go with him to his room to see some toys, but the boy refused to do so. The boy kept walking away, but the defendant walked by his side. All of a sudden he grabbed the boys hand and took him to his room asking him to keep quiet. When they reached his room, the accused dragged him inside by force. He then locked the room with a key and brought a kitchen knife. He threatened the boy by saying, take off your clothes or I will kill you. The accused made him lay down and assaulted him twice. The boy managed to escape when the accused went to the toilet. He informed his mother about the incident and his father took him to the police station. Traces of semen found on the boys body matched with the defendants DNA, according to the Criminal Evidence report. The verdict can be appealed within 15 days.
