Five Militants Killed in South of Iraq


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Five militants, including ruler of so-called Islamic State of Iraq, were killed north of Babylon and six others were arrested in clashes took place yesterday evening between a joint force and gunmen tried to enter and the storm a police station in the Jurf al-Sakar 45 km northwest of Hilla, south of Iraq. A security source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the militants tried to storm the police station, but the force fought with them and managed to kill a number of them and arresting others, adding that the clashes lasted nearly three hours. Meanwhile, the number of casualties resulted from earlier in the evening suicide attack at Aemma Bridge in Adhamiya, increased up to 51 killed and 107 wounded. Earlier in the evening police source said that a suicide attacker detonated his vest of explosives, amid visitors on their way to Khadhim Shrine, at Aemma Bridge, on the Adhamiya side.
