(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Commercial Protection Section at the Abu Dhabi Business Centre, an affiliate of the Department of Economic Development-Abu Dhabi (DED Abu Dhabi), seized 2,030 counterfeit auto parts, tyres and accessories worth Dh600,000 during inspections of over 39 shops in the industrial area of Al Ain City.
DED said the inspections were carried out in cooperation with Al Shaali & Co law firm which represents 10 owner companies and manufacturers of the original auto products.
The inspections led to violations filed against 30 of theses shops for transgressing the commercial activities and rules and regulations of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The client companies of the law firm provided training to Abu Dhabi Business Centres inspectors on identifying the difference between counterfeit and original products using state-of-the-art techniques.
Abu Dhabi Business Centre praised DEDs strategic partners in the government, semi-government entities and the private sector for their efforts and role in the realisation of the centres strategy aimed at setting up a competitive business environment in the Emirate Abu Dhabi.
On its part, the law firm praised the Al Ain branch of the Department of Economic Development-Abu Dhabi for its efforts to protect consumers from counterfeit products.
