Camel Campus set to make debut in Ajman

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Camel Campus is all set to open its doors to business travellers, tourists and visitors to introduce an affordable "hostel accommodation" concept in the Middle East for the first time. The first campus soft opening in Ajman is scheduled on Tuesday and it will be the second-largest hostel in the world with a 790-bed capacity. The luxurious campus, located near China Mall in Ajman, has a full range of activities that spread from desert safaris, sandboard surfing, scuba diving, cultural tours and 100 other exciting things to attract travellers between the ages of 18 to 35. The guests are housed in a brand-new, purpose-built series of buildings to experience "a new level of comfort" for Dh55 per night only. "It is a unique and exciting project being introduced for the first time in this part of the world. Ajman hosts the first campus and its commercial launch is set for December this year," Chandru Mahtani, chief executive officer of Camel Campus, told Khaleej Times in an interview at his office ahead of soft opening of the project. Elaborating the key features of the maiden project, he said the Ajman campus is located just 25 minutes from Dubai Airport, right off Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the former Emirates Road. "The campus will introduce probably the worlds largest shisha lounge where guests can also enjoy soft music, mood lighting and The Secret Garden under the beautiful starlit sky. Gym facilities are available with indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, squash courts and a cricket pitch. There is even a Roman-style amphitheatre," he said. "There will be only four to six people in a room. The guests will have seven options in breakfast, lunch and dinner for Dh55 only," he said, and adding that the "55 is key figure for comfort and dinning at Camel Campus. Referring to his young energetic son Amir Mahtani, who will supervise the Camel Campus project in the UAE, he said: "It is a project by a young entrepreneur for young travellers and will be run by youths." "For the first time in the UAE, there is a top-quality, affordable hostelling for international young travellers so that they are able to have an unforgettable experience on a limited budget," he said, adding that the camelcampus.com website will start functioning soon to facilitate the travellers in online and advance booking of space at the campus.
