Kuwait- Officer acquitted

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Misdemeanor Court acquitted a military officer working at the Ministry of Interior of the charges of staging a rally in a public place and disobeying the instructions of the securitymen. Attorney Thamer Al-Sane said in a press statement that Article 16 and 20 from the Law 65/1979 related to rallies have become unconstitutional following the verdict issued by the Constitutional Court on May 1, 2006. Based on this fact, Attorney Al-Sane insisted that his client should be acquitted because there is no crime without a legal text related to it.
