The E.U shares rose slightly within the closing session to accordingly close the week in green territories as the U.S government shutdown reached a fourth day, knowing that due to this government shutdown this week the US Bureau of Labor Statistics did not collect or issue economic data and therefore the strongly awaited jobs report was not released.
CAC 40 Index
The French index climbed 36.27 points or 0.88% to finally close at 4164.25. The index started the session at 4125.11 and recorded throughout the day its highest level at 4176.26 and its lowest level at 4124.67.
Best performing stocks within the index were the Cie de St-Gobain SA share which inclined 3.76% to settle at €38.40, in second place came the Renault SA share which closed higher by 2.79% at €61.16.
DAX Index
German equities advanced today as the benchmark index DAX 30 closed the session higher by 25.06 points or 0.29% at 8622.97. The index started the session at 8590.91 and recorded throughout the day its highest level at 8639.74 and its lowest level at 8570.21.
Best performing stocks within the index were the Commerzbank AG share which inclined 4.11% to settle at €9.06, in second place came the Deutsche Telekom AG share which closed higher by 2.60% at €11.19
FTSE 100 Index
The British benchmark index ended the day higher to settle at 6453.88 with a gain of 4.84 points or 0.08%. The index started the session at 6453.88 and recorded throughout the day its highest level at 6473.58 and its lowest level at 6428.96.
Best performing stocks within the index were the Standard Life PLC share which inclined 2.52% to settle at £354.10, in second place came the GKN PLC share which closed higher by 2.44% at £352.90.
