GCC Trade Ministers Start Their 48th Meeting


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The GCC Ministers of Commerce held their 48th meeting here on Wednesday . During the meeting , the GCC ministers of commerce are to discuss effective means for the enhancement of GCC trade cooperation among member states. Addressing the opening session , bahraini minister of trade and industry dr. hassan abdullah fakhroo whose country is the current chairman of the GCC current session said the agenda of the current session includes a host of key and vital issues hoping the ministers would rearch positive and practical results that would enhance further joint GCC trade cooperation at the national, regional and international levels. He voiced delight at the progress made at the Gulf and regional level of the executive steps made for realizing the economic and trade integration ,starting from the Unified Economic Agreement, and then the GCC Customs Union, and the GCC common market, hoping to complete the monetary union initiatives and then the whole Gulf Union. Addressing the opening session, the GCC Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs Abdullah Bin Jumaa Al-Shebli , said the agenda also a set of key topics which are the outcome of the intensive and tireless efforts made on part of the general secretariat and the concerned committees since the 47th meeting of the trade cooperation committee . These topics include obstaclces of trade exchange , trade fraud law and consumer protection ,he added.
