UAE- Delivery boy caught supplying tramadol

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Police on Wednesday arrested a 19-year-old Arab delivery boy for allegedly using his job position to supply tramadol pills to customers in a residential building in the emirate. The suspect was arrested at a traffic signal. Colonel Ibrahim Kaptain, head of the Anti-Narcotics Section of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, said they received a tipoff that the suspect, who worked for a private company, supplied tramadol pills to his customers in the building under the cover of delivering the companys orders. A team of anti-narcotics officers formed to investigate the man and confirmed the veracity of the information and noticed that he moved around the city a lot. The team laid a trap and arrested him when he stopped at a signal junction. He tried to escape but the police managed to overpower him. The police did not disclose the quantity of tramadol pills seized from him, but said drug dealers were using youths to promote narcotic substances, exploiting their young mind and lack of knowledge about the dangerous work they were doing. He urged the companies to monitor their delivery men and representatives they sent to customers to deliver products and ensure they were doing their job in a proper way. The companies should obtain police records before hiring representatives. He also called on community members to be cautious while dealing with delivery men.
