Saudi- Ministry blacklists 7 academics

(MENAFN- Arab News) The Ministry of Higher Education has blacklisted seven academics from Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz University following the termination of their contracts. One Egyptian lecturer was fired after the university had received numerous complaints from students about his teaching. The contract of an Egyptian female assistant professor was terminated because she was said to be lax in delivering her lectures. The list also included an Egyptian associate professor for irregularities, errors and unprofessional behavior with students and faculty members. Another Egyptian lecturer was on the list for inefficiency in teaching and a Jordanian assistant professor was blacklisted for unauthorized absence. Another Jordanian assistant professor was fired for incompetence. An Indian assistant professor was also included in the list for lack of teaching experience and complaints filed against him for academic violations. Sources told local media that the university terminated the contracts following academic observation. The Ministry of Higher Education, however, noticed irregularities in the recruitment process and observed a lack of professional standards in the university's contracting committee when hiring lecturers.
