MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show registeres 800 pct growth

(MENAFN) A top official reported that the MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show in Sharjah hit an unexpected growth of more than 800 percent in terms of exhibitors compared to its first show in 1993, according to Khaleej Times. The first edition of the show welcomed 49 exhibitors in late 1993. The next edition will be the 35th edition and will welcome 450 exhibitors in October. Expo Centre Sharjah chief executive officer Saif Mohammed Al Midfa told Khaleej Times in an interview: "The show has grown from strength to strength. It was a yearly event in October until 2000. Then, considering the demand and growth opportunity, we transformed the show into a bi-annual event from its millennium edition in April 2000. Since then the show is happening every six months one in spring [March/April] and another in autumn [September/October]."
