Asian shares decline paring the biggest monthly gain since 2012

Asian shares fell in early trades, paring the biggest monthly gain for the regional benchmark since 2012, as concerns spread in markets on the U.S. budget. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index declined 1 percent to 139.42 as of 20:02 AM in Tokyo.

The regional benchmark was heading towards a 7.1 percent gain this month, which is the highest since January 2012, while the index already climbed 6.8 percent this quarter.

Japan`s Topix Index dropped 1.9 percent, leading the decline in Asia equity markets, while South Korea` Kospi Index slid 0.8 percent. Australia`s S&P/ASX 200 Index declined 1 percent, and New Zealand`s NZX 50 Index fell 0.8 percent.
