(MENAFN) Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung reported that General Electric Co won Vietnam Airlines Corp's order at USD1 billion to supply it with engines, according to Arab News.
Dung said that the US President Barack Obama is expected to be present when the deal is signed next month in Brunei at the East Asia Summit.
Dung commented: "There has been very strong competition between GE and Rolls Royce but it was transparent and GE has won the bid."
"This is a very good deal," he added.
