Man drowns off Al Khan beach


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Police are reiterating the warning to the public to avoid swimming in dangerous areas, after another person drowned in Sharjah while swimming in a prohibited area. Media and public relations department director Colonel Sultan Abdullah Al Khayal said the police had been notified of a man drowning at the Al Khan beach at about 8am on Saturday. Police ambulances and rescuers hurried to the scene and managed to retrieve the body that was taken to a police forensic laboratory to help in the investigations. Police identified the man as a middle-aged Indian and said that he had gone swimming in an area that is forbidden for swimming. Al Khayal urged all beach goers to strictly follow the red signs prohibiting them from swimming in dangerous areas.
