(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A prostitute has been arrested, while two men who headed a prostitution racket are on the run, after they attempted to abort the baby of a second prostitute, which instead led to the woman's death.
The Dubai police arrested the 31-year old Indian prostitute and are chasing the two other suspects who fled the country after the botched abortion which caused the death of a 34-year-old Indian prostitute, whose decomposed body was found in Dubai.
The woman's body was found last week in the prostitution den where she worked. The Operation Room of the Dubai Police said they received a complaint last Monday afternoon that a body had been found in the residential area Al Murar in Deira.
The Dubai police went to the site where a Bangladeshi watchman who worked in the building led police to a flat where they found a grey plastic bag, that appeared to be wrapped around a body, under a table.
Police said fluids were filling the floor due to the decomposition of the body, with a bad smell filling the room.
The watchman told the police the real estate office of the building told him to inform the suspects, an Indian and Bangladeshi, regarding the payment of their rent fees for the two flats they rented in the building, and the renewal of their lease.
The watchman told police he knocked on the door of the first flat but nobody responded, so he called a mobile phone which was switched off. The watchman then headed to the second flat and knocked on the door without response, but while he was there he noticed a bad smell was coming from the room. He said he broke the door down, before making his grizzly find and calling the police.
The police investigation found the male suspects had rented two flats as a prostitution den before fleeing the country after their botched attempt to rid the woman of her unwanted foetus.
The police arrested an Indian woman who confessed that she and the victim were brought to the country by the two suspects and dragged into prostitution. The woman said when the victim got pregnant they all decided to abort the child, however the woman started to bleed heavily but no one sought medical attention for her. The woman eventually bled to death and the two male suspects put her inside the bag before fleeing. The woman said she also left to another residence, where she stayed till she was caught by the police.
The dead body of the woman was referred to the General Department of Forensic Medicine. The woman suspect was referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution, while police continue their search for the other two suspects to bring them to justice.
