Saudi- Boy dies from electrocution


(MENAFN- Arab News) A young boy who died after being electrocuted on a joy ride at a children's amusement corner at a popular mall in Taif was laid to rest at Al-Nassen cemetery on Tuesday. The victim, Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Harthy, died inside the mall's amusement corner. A large gathering of locals prayed for him at Abbas Mosque. Al-Harthy, a third grade student, had gone to the second floor at the mall with his mother to play in the amusement corner. People at the amusement corner then found his body lying between the electric vehicles and the water sport games. Security authorities are investigating the incident and have questioned the owner of the mall after establishing that the incident was the result of safety negligence. According to forensic medical reports, the cause of death was electrocution from electric wires. Abdulaziz Al-Harthy, the child's father, said: "I lost my dear son due to negligence on the part of the center owners, who did not maintain the premises." Al-Harthy demanded a quick and thorough investigation and called for the punishment of those responsible for the incident to ensure that such accidents do not recur in future.
