6th Emirates Int'l Investment Forum on Oct 8


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The sixth Emirates International Investment Forum, organised by the Department of Economic Development (DED) €" Abu Dhabi in cooperation with Institutional Investor, will be held on October 8 in Abu Dhabi. The event will see the participation of over 300 representatives and senior officials from the UAE, as well as delegations and businessmen from around 20 Arab and foreign countries. The forum has been inaugurated by Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, chairman of the DED, in a speech in which he highlighted the most prominent development projects taking place in the UAE and especially in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which will provide many investment opportunities and contribute to attracting foreign direct investment in the light of the development and growth witnessed by the country's economy that enabled it to rank first in the recent reports of international competitiveness. Hamad Abdullah Almass, executive director of the International Economic Relations Department, said that this annual forum has become an important platform where business leaders and foreign investors meet with decision makers in the UAE. He added that the forum of this year will focus on major development projects in a variety of sectors, most notably the financial sector in light of the regional and international recovery of global markets. He said that the forum will include four discussion sessions: the importance of the expectations of global financial markets; key ingredients that make the UAE attractive for investments, discussing the future of the Abu Dhabi International Financial Centre to be launched soon on Mariah Island and its role in changing the role of the region in global markets; and the impact of the UAE's emerging market status on the financial sector in the region.
