Private schools in KSA to raise fees by up to 20 percent


(MENAFN) The Saudi Ministry of Education approved a request by 932 private schools to increase fees by up to 20 percent, Arabian Business reported. The director of private and international schools in the ministry said that 50 percent of the Kingdom"s schools applied to hike fees, but the ministry only approved 21 percent of the applications. The Chairman of the private schools committee at the Saudi Council of Chambers stated that the reason behind the increase is to cope with the rising expenditures, especially high teacher salaries, and not to make profits.
