(MENAFNEditorial) Eminent personalities within the government and trade bodies will address the huge potential between the UAE and Ecuador at a trade forum dubbed as 'Connecting with Ecuador', at Grand Hyatt Dubai on 29th September 2013.
The conference aims to further increase the trade and export opportunities between the two countries targeting local exporters and businesses seeking to expand outside the country.
Distinguished speakers at the forum are His Excellency Kabalan Abisaab, Ecuadorian Ambassador to the State of Qatar; His Excellency Sami Al Qamzi, Director General, Department of Economic Development (DED); Engineer Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO, Dubai Trade; Hussam Hassan, Head of Commercial Office, PROECUADOR - UAE; Prrasad Katta, Regional Director, Middle East & Africa, Western Union; Maria L. Rubert, Partner, M/Advocates of Law; Schuyler D'Souza, Country Manager, Credit Insurance at Orient PJSC & GCC Head of Atradius; Samir Hamadeh, General Manager, Alpha Tours; and Michael Wunsch, Managing Director, Barakat Quality Plus.
"Ecuador is a growing Commercial interest for investors and businessmen in the GCC region, due to its stability and consistent economic growth in the last few years, despite global and regional financial crises. Ecuador's growth in the last year was 4.5%, one of the highest in South America and the most promising and fastest growing economies today," said His Excellency Kabalan Abisaab, Ecuadorian Ambassador to the State of Qatar. "The GCC and the UAE is one of Ecuador's key markets and this forum offers an opportunity for us to further strengthen our mutual economic ties."
PROECUADOR is bringing together expertise from the two governments and the private sector to provide advice on how best to trade with and invest in Ecuador.
According to Hussam Hassan, Head of the Ecuadorian Commercial Office in Dubai, "With only less than a year since opening the office in May this year, PROECUADOR successfully launched several initiatives including outward trade missions to Ecuador with more than 10 UAE companies. Some of the main highlights of PROECUADOR's activities in 2013 were the 'Ecuadorian Banana Forum', 'Macrorrueda de Negocios Ecuador 2013' and recently 'Aromas Del Ecuador' all of which were held in Ecuador with the participation of UAE Companies.
"We aim to further boost our achievements in the coming years. We are planning to bring more outward missions to Ecuador and bring more UAE companies along with focusing more on Trade, Investment and tourism. We believe that this forum will create more awareness on possible opportunities between the UAE and Ecuador," added Abisaab.
The Ecuadorian forum will be held in collaboration with Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) and Trade & Export magazine.
