UAE- Campaign against bad parking hazards

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The dangerous consequences of parking haphazardly in front of mosques are being highlighted as part of a new awareness campaign launched by the Sharjah Police. The main aim of the campaign is to warn motorists of the danger of parking their cars in front of mosques and malls in a way that can endanger the lives of road users. The campaign features distribution of awareness pamphlets among motorists. Lieutenant-Colonel Ahmed bin Darwish, director of the traffic department of Sharjah police, said random parking inhibits police patrols from reaching the desired locations in emergencies. Also, such type of parking during Friday prayers leads to traffic jams. He urged road users to avoid parking cars in undesignated areas to avoid causing accidents and inconvenience to other road users.
