UAE- Philippines' firms set to join Hotel Show

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Select furniture and furnishing manufacturers from the Philippines will be participating at the Hotel Show 2013 on September 28 to 30 at the Dubai World Trade Centre through its Design Philippines Pavilion located at Hall 3, Stand Numbers 3C01- 3D01. Vice Consul Gerry Suliguin said that the pavilion is designed to showcase the Art of the Filipino Craftsman and to bring to the Middle East products of unparalleled craftsmanship transforming natural and indigenous materials into creations that embody the merging of tradition and modernity. He said that the Philippines sets itself apart from stiff competition in the global furniture and furnishings industry as it gears towards international competitiveness and quality in its products. Organised by the Centre for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), DTI's export promotions arm, the Philippine participation features local manufacturers, which are putting emphasis on sustainability through inventive and skillful design. "In using natural and indigenous materials, the tropical feel of the country's furniture and furnishings gives off an effortless vibe that takes people away from the busy urban life, aptly suiting the requirements of today's hospitality industry," he said. Participating in the Hotel Show 2013 are Catalina Embroideries, Cebu Fil Veneer Corporation, Craft Mill, Dale Mathis Studio, Diretso, The Gilded Expressions, Lightworks Resources, Maze Manufacturing Co, More Than A Chair, and Padua International Corporation. The participation of the Philippines in the Hotel Show 2013 is taking advantage of the Mena region's business tourism value, which is predicted to grow to $44.8 billion by 2022. Philippine furniture and furnishings is one of the sectors with the highest potential of increasing the country's export performance.
