Kuwait- Kuwait PM Instructs Payment Of KAC Debts


(MENAFN- Arab Times)  is Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah instructed payment of Kuwait Airways Corporation's (KAC) debts, the carrier's vice-chairman Jassar Al-Jassar said Sunday. KAC board members and relevant ministers held a "fruitful" meeting with Sheikh Jaber last week, during which solutions were placed to implement decree No. 22 of 2012 regarding privatization of KAC, Al-Jassar told KUNA. He said the meeting was attended by deputy prime minister and finance minister Sheikh Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, Minister of Commerce and Industry Anas Al-Saleh, Minister of Communications Essa Al-Kanderi, Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Salem Al-Athaina and Managing Director of the Public Investment Authority Bader Al-Saad. Al-Jassar termed the meeting as "very good" and the prime minister instructed payment of KAC's debts, particularly those of the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK). Payment of other debts for other companies is in the process. KAC Executive Officer Ahmad Al-Kuraibani said the airliner was in the process of finalizing the privatization including the assessment of its assets.
