UAE- Cop accused of having sex with woman as bribe

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A police corporal, who stopped an illegal woman resident and instead of taking her into police custody escorted her to her building where he allegedly had sex with her on the emergency stairs, has been charged with bribery. According to prosecution records, the 21-year-old Emirati policeman, identified as S.H., was exposed by the building's Tunisian watchman who caught him having sex with the woman, identified as D.D., an Uzbek, shortly before 6am. The watchman, 26, said that he was at the reception of the building in Al Muraqqabat around 5.45am on February 25. He was there when a policeman in uniform (S.H) entered with a woman (D.D) who lived on the second floor of the building. "I asked him if there was anything wrong and he told me everything was okay. I told him I wanted to go along but he ordered me to stay where I was," the watchman testified in the investigation. The watchman saw through the surveillance monitor screen, which was connected to 16 security cameras installed around the building, the policeman and the woman taking the lift to the fourth floor and from there heading to the emergency exit. He went upstairs to where they were and caught them having sex. He rushed down again and spotted the policeman, on his monitoring screen, taking the lift and going down. When the defendant reached the lobby he asked the watchman about some residents of the flats. As the policeman left in the police patrol car, the watchman followed him and noted down the car's number plate number. The watchman informed the police after reporting the incident to his superior. While S.H. was charged in the Court of First Instance with accepting sex as a bribe and failing to perform his duty which was to arrest D.D., the latter was charged with offering sex as a bribe. Both have been accused of illicit consensual sex. While S.H. did not attend Sunday's hearing, D.D. pleaded guilty. According to the Crime Lab report, semen traces lifted from the floor where the alleged incident took place, matched with S.H. The DNA sample found on D.D.'s body could not be identified and the forensic medical report said that no injury marks were found on D.D.'s body. The Public Prosecution enclosed with the case file the CCTV footage showing S.H. entering the building together with D.D. early on that morning and exiting alone shortly.
