Shell resumes Iraq's Majnoon production

(MENAFN) Royal Dutch Shell has resumed production at Iraq Majnoon oil field, as the country considers it a crucial site for its plans to promote production and avoid a slowdown in exports for this year, the Peninsula Qatar reported. The company in charge of running the southern Majnoon oil field said that the company aims to increase production to reach 175,000 barrels per day next month. Baghdad complained to Shell about missing the start-up dates at the oil field. An official from Iraq's South Oil Company said. "The test restart of the oilfield will continue until the end of September and production of around 190,000 barrels per day is expected to be reached in October."
