Kuwait: 38 Cars, Bikes Seized, 1,360 Citations Issued


(MENAFN- Arab Times) In their recent campaign at various parts of Hawalli governorate, officers from Hawalli Traffic Department issued 1,360 violations, and impounded 38 vehicles and motorbikes, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The campaign was initiated after the Operations Room received complaints about some youths causing traffic jam through reckless driving activities. The youths were reportedly riding buggies and motorbikes on the Arabian Gulf Street, with the purpose of causing traffic jam, and one of them hit a vehicle in the process. Acting on information, traffic men rushed to the scene and issued 220 direct violations for excessive speed using radar, and detained 5 people. Meanwhile, officers from Security Information Department impounded 38 vehicles, issued 1,140 violations and referred 15 people to the concerned authority for various traffic offenses. They also impounded 3 motorbikes, 2 buggies and a bicycle, and executed 30 service orders. Jahra securitymen also launched a security campaign on Salmi Road based on instructions from the Jahra Security Director Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah during which they arrested a number of individuals and seized 12 vehicles. According to security sources, securitymen seized 12 vehicles that were used for reckless driving. They confiscated eight unlicensed hunting guns and arrested a number of individuals who were under alcoholic influence. They revealed that the officers will continue to launch such security campaigns to arrest the violators of law and traffic rules.
