UAE- Two on trial for 'impersonating at medical fitness test'

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A saleswoman accused of unlawfully soliciting the help of a compatriot friend to undergo a medical fitness test on her behalf, stood trial on Wednesday. The test was necessary for visa renewal. The accused had a contagious disease which would disqualify her from passing the test. According to prosecution records, the 41-year-old Filipina saleswoman, J.A., gave her accomplice, R.A., a 33-year-old maid, her passport and the fitness test form to appear for the test on her behalf at the Karama medical fitness centre. R.A. is charged in the Court of First Instance with using the medical fitness test application, which is an official document, in J.A.'s name. R.A. is also accused of using J.A.'s passport. J.A. has been charged with being an accessory to both crimes. R.A. admitted that J.A. handed her her original passport and the form. She confessed that J.A. told her to make the blood sample takers at the centre believe that she was the passport holder and accordingly give her blood pretending to be the real applicant. R.A. admitted that she did go for the test at Al Karama medical centre but she was exposed by one of the workers there. J.A. confirmed R.A.'s statement. An Indian blood sample collector, 34, said that R.A. came on August 4 to the centre to take the blood. While checking the photo on the passport R.A. gave her, it was noticed that R.A. looked different. When confronted R.A. became tense and admitted that the passport and application belonged to her friend who suffered a transmittable disease. However, it was not known from the prosecution records what kind of disease J.A. has.
