Trade between Kosovo, Macedonia resumes

(MENAFN) Trade between Kosovo and Macedonia returned to normal yesterday after the border closure which lasterd for six days, The Peninsula reported. The issue between the countries started in July when Macedonia decided to limit wheat and flour imports from members of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) in a move to protect local production. Kosovo, then, banned food, beverage and cigarette imports from Macedonia and implemented a blanket ban on goods following Macedonia"s decision to collect fees from Kosovo citizens entering the country. The issue was resolved after Macedonia removed the flour limit and Kosovo lifted the restrictions. Kosovo Trade Minister, Mimoza Kusari Lila, said at the border: "After a week of blockade on both sides of the border, tonight at midnight, between the 14th and 15th, the border is open."
