(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A Bangladeshi man who killed one roommate and injured another after a dispute over rent money has been arrested.
The suspect was arrested by the Sharjah Police on the UAE borders while trying to flee the country on Saturday.
The suspect stabbed his roommate to death and hurt the other during a violent fight over the payment of the room rent for their shared room in their Sharjah Industrial Area accommodation.
The crime took place on September 2, when the police were notified by a neighbour and rushed to the crime scene. The injured man was rushed to Al Kuwaiti Hospital where he is currently recovering from his wounds, while the body of the murdered man was moved to forensic laboratory.
The police interrogated neighbours and acquaintances who all said that the three men were sharing the room for more than three years and all worked in various places.
The suspect confessed to his crime during interrogation and has been referred to Public Prosecution.
