IMF expects Pakistan growth to drop next year

(MENAFN) Pakistan has been warned by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that its economic growth for the next year may be worse than expected, The Peninsula Qatar reported. The fund cited its reasons behind the warning to the austerity measures taken by the country after the USD6.7 billion rescue loan. The country's gross domestic product (GDP) averaged at three percent in the past five years; considerably lower than the seven percent needed to bring the country out of poverty and keep up with the growing labor market.
