Turkish economy rose 4.4 in the second quarter


(MENAFN) Statistics show that Turkey's economy grew more than expected in the second quarter expanding by 4.4 percent compared with the April-July period of last year, Saudi Gazette reported. The national statistic agency said that the percentage of growth went up from 2.9 during the first quarter. Many investors pulled out their funds in case of a withdrawal from US monetary stimulus; as a result of the unrest that hit emerging markets in recent weeks. The Turkish lira has turned to new lows against the dollar and stocks fell because of the intense situation in Syria.
