(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Dr. Hussain Al-Shahristani met Monday with Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Frans Timmermans.
Al-Shahristani stressed to the Dutch official that Iraq was working relentlessly to develop the energy industry in Iraq, particularly the oil sector.
The government is focusing on encouraging investments, the Deputy Prime Minister added, while calling on Dutch companies to invest in the Iraqi market, stressing that they will receive all the possible backing.
For his part, the Dutch Foreign Minister said that his country was ready to cooperate with Iraq in all fields.
Timmermans arrived earlier today to Baghdad on an official visit.
